A domestic dispute in Uttar Pradesh’s Kannauj district has taken a serious legal turn after a woman accused her own grandfather of orchestrating a false criminal case against her, prompting police scrutiny and an official inquiry.

The woman, a resident of Sarai village in the Gursahaiganj area of Kannauj, approached the Superintendent of Police’s office with a written complaint, alleging deliberate misuse of legal procedures to implicate her. According to her statement, a false case was lodged against her at the behest of her grandfather, with the alleged involvement of another family member whom she described as acting to trap her under fabricated charges.

In her application, the woman maintained that the accusations leveled against her were baseless and driven by internal family conflicts. She urged senior police authorities to intervene, verify the facts, and ensure that no action is taken against her without a fair and impartial investigation.

Police officials confirmed that the complaint has been formally received and registered for examination. Authorities stated that an inquiry has been initiated to assess the allegations, examine records, and determine whether any procedural misuse occurred in the filing of the case.

The outcome of the investigation is expected to clarify responsibilities and determine the next course of action in accordance with the law.
